1. Agreement to these terms
By using the Cubehire website, creating an account, submitting an enquiry or taking the technical interview, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Cubehire does
Cubehire assesses software engineers through a structured technical interview, reviews the result, and introduces the engineers who pass to companies in the United States that are hiring. We are an intermediary. We are not the employer of the engineers in the network and we are not a party to the working relationship you go on to form, except where a separate contract says otherwise.
3. Accounts
You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. One person may hold one candidate account; duplicate accounts, or accounts created with someone else's identity documents, are closed. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself.
4. The technical interview
The interview is a single attempt, taken in one sitting. It cannot be paused, resumed or restarted. It runs in full screen on a laptop or desktop with a working camera and microphone, and the spoken round is recorded continuously. Before it begins you are shown exactly what it involves and asked to confirm you are ready.
- Leaving full screen, switching tabs, opening another window or leaving the page ends the session.
- Having another person present, reading from a prepared answer, or using any tool to generate an answer ends the session.
- A terminated session is recorded as terminated. You may appeal it from the results page and a person at Cubehire will review it.
- Scores are ours. We do not publish the marking rubric and we do not negotiate a score, though we will explain one and will correct a mistake.
5. Profiles and what companies see
No profile is published automatically. Every profile is reviewed by a person before a company can see it, and Cubehire may decline to publish or may remove a profile at its discretion, including where the information in it turns out to be false. Your contact details are not shown to a company before you agree to talk to them.
6. Fees
Cubehire is free for engineers. Joining the network, taking the interview and being placed cost you nothing, and we will never ask you for a fee.
Companies pay either a one time success fee for a full-time placement or a fixed monthly rate for a contract engagement. The rate that applies to you is the one quoted to you in writing before you interview anyone. Invoices are payable to the terms stated on them.
7. The replacement guarantee
If a hire made through Cubehire does not work out within the guarantee period set out in your agreement, we will find a replacement at no additional fee. The guarantee covers the fit of the engineer to the role as described to us. It does not cover a role that changes after the hire, a budget that is withdrawn, or a company that ends the engagement for reasons unrelated to the engineer's work.
8. Going around the platform
Companies introduced to an engineer through Cubehire agree not to engage that engineer directly, or through another intermediary, for twelve months from the introduction without paying the fee that would have been due. This is the only thing that makes the service possible to run: the work of finding and assessing an engineer happens before anyone is introduced.
9. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, copy or republish profiles, role pages or salary data from this site.
- Do not use the site to advertise a role that does not exist, or to collect candidate details for a purpose other than hiring.
- Do not attempt to access another account, probe the site for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or interfere with the interview system.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload.
10. Intellectual property
The Cubehire name, the site, its design, its copy and the interview question sets belong to Cubehire. What you upload stays yours; by uploading it you give us the licence we need to assess you, build your profile and show it to companies, and nothing more.
11. Liability
We work hard to make the assessment accurate and the introductions good, but we do not guarantee that any engineer will be placed, that any role will be filled, or that the site will be available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, Cubehire is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
12. Ending your use of the service
You can close your account at any time by writing to us. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that contains false information, or that is used to abuse the interview. Where we do so we will tell you why.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. Where a change materially affects a company under an active agreement, that agreement takes precedence until it is renewed.
