1. Who we are
Cubehire is a hiring platform that connects companies in the United States with software engineers who have been assessed through a structured AI technical interview and reviewed by a person. This policy covers the Cubehire website and everything you do on it, whether you are hiring or looking to be hired.
Cubehire is the controller of the personal data described here. If you want to reach us about anything in this document, the contact address is at the bottom of the page.
2. What we collect from engineers
Registering as an engineer means giving us the following. Nothing here is optional if you want a profile that companies can act on, and none of it is collected for any purpose other than placing you.
- Identity and contact details: your name, email address, phone numbers, national identity number, postal address and location.
- Professional information: your CV, skills, work history, education, certifications, projects and portfolio links.
- A profile photograph, which is checked automatically for whether it is suitable for a professional profile.
- Interview data: your answers to every question, the score for each one, and the video and audio recording of the spoken round.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visited on this site.
3. What we collect from companies
If you enquire about hiring, we collect your name, work email address, phone number, company name and what you told us about the role, the head count and the budget. We keep the messages you send us so the person picking up your enquiry can see the history.
4. Automated processing, and what it does not decide
Two parts of the service are automated. Your uploaded CV is read by an AI model to fill in your profile, and your interview answers are scored by an AI model against a rubric. Both save a great deal of time and neither is the final word.
No profile is published to a company on the strength of an automated score alone. Every profile is reviewed by a person at Cubehire before it becomes visible, and every terminated interview can be appealed to a person. You can ask us to explain a score and to review a decision by writing to the address at the bottom of this page.
5. The interview recording
The spoken round of the technical interview records video and audio continuously from the moment it begins until it ends. You are told this before you start and you have to confirm it before a session is created. The recording is used to score your communication and presentation and to confirm that the person answering is the person who signed up. It is never published, never shown to a company alongside your profile, and never used to train a model.
6. Why we are allowed to hold it
- To perform the service you asked for: creating your account, assessing you, building your profile and putting it in front of companies.
- Because you consented: the profile photograph check, the interview recording and marketing email, each of which you can withdraw.
- For our legitimate interests: keeping the interview honest, preventing fraudulent or duplicate accounts, and keeping the site secure.
- To comply with the law where a contract, a tax record or a legal claim requires it.
7. Who we share it with
Companies hiring through Cubehire see your professional profile and your interview score once it has been approved. They do not see your contact details, your identity number or your interview recording until you have agreed to talk to them.
We use third parties to run the service: hosting and storage providers, an email provider, and AI model providers who process your CV, your answers and your photograph so those features can work. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal data, and we never have.
8. How long we keep it
An active profile is kept for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, your profile, CV, interview answers and recording are deleted within 30 days, except where we have to keep a record to meet a legal or accounting obligation. Enquiries from companies are kept for two years from the last contact.
9. Your rights
Whatever country you are in, you can ask us to do all of the following, and we answer within one business day and act within 30 days.
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the data attached to it.
- Stop sending you marketing email, which you can also do from any email we send.
- Have a person review an automated score or a terminated interview.
10. Security
Access to candidate data inside Cubehire is limited to the people who need it to do their job. Passwords are stored hashed, never in a readable form. Traffic to and from this site is encrypted. Interview recordings are stored separately from public profiles. What we do to keep all of this true is set out in our ISMS policy, which is linked in the footer of every page.
11. Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work: keeping you signed in, keeping your registration progress between steps, and protecting forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or what we do with it, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Where the change is significant we tell account holders by email rather than relying on you to check.
